From the moment I picked up a field hockey stick in 5th grade, I knew that field hockey was the sport I wanted to play for as long as I could. This previous season I felt as if it was the defining moment of me growing as an athlete and as a student. My high school team became DII State Champions after our loss in the semifinals the year before to the same team. We were 19-0-0 and that record came with all the hard work me, as well as my team, put in. I was selected to the DII All-Star Team, and by RIIL for the DII First Team & All Tournament Team. I also had the assist on our winning and only goal in the championship game. I put in 100% effort for every practice and game, as well as my school work, and I hope to do the same in college.
On the student side of things, school is the most important to me. I strive to be the best student that I can be, and am fortunate enough to go to one of the top schools in Rhode Island, Wheeler. I study hard and work to be at the top of my class and get the best grades I can. Although it isn't the sportiest school, I appreciate how I am being challenged academically every day, even if I'm not competing at the highest level. I am looking for a program that not only will be a great fit for me athletically, but also academically as I want to do my best in both. I have learned a lot from playing over 2 sports, whether it's on the field hockey field, or snowboarding competitively on the snow, I know I am willing to commit and be a great leader on any team.
