Personal Statement
In 7th grade, being completely new to the sport, one of my friends begged me to try field hockey. I was fortunate to benefit from picking up the sport fairly quickly because of my athleticism. Since that day I have never stopped trying to improve myself. My internal drive motivates me to contribute the most I can to my team and to myself. I always keep practicing and playing as hard as I can because I know that stopping means I have given up, and I won't give up. I am determined to become the best player I can become, therefore I joined a club team. Field Hockey has taught me about hard work and commitment and fighting for what I want. I am thankful for this because it has translated over to my entire life, and because this mindset has stayed with me, I am a better student, player, and person.
I always strive to be the best in what I do. Since elementary school, I have had all A's, and that has not faltered in high school. I want to be my classes' valedictorian because I know that I am capable of doing so. In college I want to play field hockey for sure, and I know that can handle every part of being a college student-athlete.
I succeed both academically and athletically because my work ethic never falters and I want to make the most out of what I do. I'm striving to find a school that challenges me both academically and athletically which will best prepare me for my future career in the real world.
