I feel that I would be a good candidate for your team because of my experiences on and off the field, my ability to adapt in a variety of situations and my personal goal of always doing my best. I was privileged to be a member of the 2015 Alabama Class 2A Championship team and being on that team taught me many life lessons. One of which, is to always strive for excellence, and excellence is a mindset that affects everything I do. Before that season, I was a mostly C student, after that season, I achieved A’s with only 1B. My mind is made up, I plan to achieve great things in life from high school to college to the work force. My dad was in prison for the majority of my younger years. At one point I was hurt and angry at him for being missing in action. Once he was released, he took the time to sit down and explain to me just how he ended up in prison. He wanted to take care of me and my siblings and wanted to do it in style by making a fast buck. I thought about what he said and I determined then and there that I wanted to go a different way. I want to earn my achievements. I want to look at myself in the mirror and know that I didn’t attempt short cuts, that every step is paved with integrity, striving for excellence and respect for myself as well as others. Because of my upbringing, I’ve had lots of opportunity to interact with my elders and I’ve learned to listen and pay close attention to what they have to say because I can learn and apply the lessons that others have gone through to make my life better. The thing that makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics, is that I know it takes a village to achieve success and I want everyone on the team strong and I am willing to go above and beyond to do my part and bring someone else alongside.
