Sports has always been a big part of my life. I have played football since I was 7 years old and basketball since I was 10 years old and started a new sport of track and field my Junior year of high school. When I was 8 years old I lost my father and sports became an outlet for me to cope with my loss. It brought comfort being around my teammates and having my family there to cheer me on during my events. Sports has given so much to me so when I step on the field, track, or the court I give it my all and more. Because of me playing sports I have learned there are no room for excuses on the field or the classroom. One of the obstacles that I feel that I am judge on is my height. I never want to be viewed as a player that is on a team because I am 6’5 in height. I want to show that I am a valuable member of a team because I work hard and show there is always room for improvement. I want to be given challenges and goals for me to reach then break those and create more.
I have a lot to offer and more to learn from you. Austin Blakley Class of 2020
