Personal Statement
At eight years old I played my first down of football, and at that moment, I was hooked. I have always been a rule follower and would never hurt anybody, but on the field I had an opportunity to let loose, be violent, and destroy people. I have learned many lessons in mental and physical toughness, hard work, and the importance of teamwork while playing football. I have also faced a lot of adversity throughout my career. I have gone through multiple coaching changes in high school and in ninth grade, I tore my ACL. It was a tough road for recovery, but by the next season, I was stronger and better than I had been before my injury. I became a starter my junior season and received 1st team All-County, All-Region, and All-State honors. As a team we made our schools deepest playoff run in over ten years.
Before all else I am a Christian, and my faith in Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. Last fall, I mentored and coached a team of elementary school kids in FCA Bowl, a flag football league sponsored by my schools FCA Chapter. I am the oldest of four boys in my household. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, collecting model airplanes, amateur pro-football scouting, and finding time to get in a few holes of golf. I am thankful to have always done well in school, making A-Honor Roll every year since first grade. Due to my academic success I am a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and Mu Alpha Theta. I intend to study psychology in college and go to medical school post-graduation.
