Cody Taylor '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a driven and focused individual who is God fearing and love my family. I work hard to maintain "A's" and "B's". No one will out work me on or off the field. I welcome adversity and thrive when challenged. My parents and God are my pillars of strength in which I rely on for guidance through my life. I will attend college to improve myself as an individual and athlete. I am the fastest, pound for pound strongest and third over-all strongest person on the Sumiton Christian Varsity football team. My work ethic on and off the field is very strong. I am constantly working to make myself better and stronger. This includes the off season and playing baseball. Time management and focus are the keys to my current successes. I love the game of football and have a long desire to play at the collegiate level. Football provides me a way to stay in shape, compete in many ways, teaches teamwork/leadership and allows me to make lifelong friendships. It is not a seasonal sport for me. It is constant all year long. Training hard makes me play hard. I thrive on competing against others. Proving to people that heart goes a lot further than size is the one element of surprise that I take advantage of each season. Playing with heart, motivation and desire is the reason for my success. In addition to my commitment to the football team, I am a SGA Ambassador, in the National Honor Society and on the Prom Committee. As a SGA Ambassador, I help underclassmen with understanding and managing high school life whenever they need it. Being a part of the National Honor Society is a testament of my hard work in the classroom and I continue to work hard in order to finish strong. Participating on the Prom Committee is a way for me to give back to the school in ways other than sports. I also help the Quarterback Club by volunteering to help with their events and fund-raisers. The college or university that is ideal for me will be NAIA, DI, DII or DIII. The school must provide a Bachelors of Science in Nursing because I want to be a Nurse Anesthetist. Also, I want the school to be in the South East. My family is important to me and I would like to be no more than a 16 hour drive away. Ultimately, I will attend college to earn my degree. One thing that helps me meet that goal is football; the sport I love. For me, there is not a better way to experience college. I refuse to fail. My character will not allow me to compromise my goals and dreams. I will always give one-hundred percent into all that is asked of me. Failure is not an option!
