I've been playing football for seven years now, and I've played every position .
This year I won the Coaches award for MVP/ Most Inspirational player On my high school team. During the coaches speech at the award ceremony, Coach Sauer compared me to Kordell Stewart, The Slash because I successfully played so many positions in our Jr. Division 1 City Football championship team. I love being a DB, I'm good at it and I have nose for the ball. I continually have the highest number of interceptions in the league and I hate to let a guy get past me but I am happy to play anywhere my coaches need me. This year I was able to score at least one touchdown in 4 different positions: DB/Safety, kick off returner, punt returner and slot back as well as kicking several field goals and 100% success rate on the kick for a point after a touchdown.
Since I began playing football I have won top player awards every year I was eligible. In Atom, I was the Offensive MVP and in my final year of Bantam 2017, I made the City All Star Team ( Calgary has a population of 1.392 million ) and took home 2 positional trophies, one for Defensive Back and the other was All Around Kicker. The trophies I am most proud of are hailed as the top Cowboy trophies for Most Inspirational Player showing Leadership and Ability. I am honoured to know that I bring out the very best in my teammates.
I am very proud of my commitment to the game. I try to learn from many different places, my coaches, my teammates, trainers and watching the pros. I also expect the same commitment from the players I lead, I have been named team captain on every team I have played on since they started naming captains in PeeWee. I will tell my guys what they need to do but I prefer to lead by example. I work really hard at every practice and will add extra hill runs if I feel like we need them and I never leave the field until all the equipment is put away. I strive to behave as total sportsman in every game and practice and never stop working until the time clock says the game is over.
I take that attitude to my studies too. I pretty good at school except for Math that's the one subject that usually slows me down. It's starting to improve and I'm also getting my accommodations at this school which I wasn't getting before and my marks have already improved. On my last report card, I had a 78% average. I think I can do better and will continue to work independently and with my tutor to raise my marks.
I know that I will be a successful student athlete. My dream is to play at a Division 1 school and continue into a professional career.
