Personal Statement
My collegiate goals are to become a CRNA. I aspire to be a positive role model to my siblings and embrace my Native American Culture in the process.
I am different from other recruits in athletics because I have not had any personal football mentors. My dad died from addiction the summer I turned 9, the first summer my mom enrolled me in football. Since then I have played numerous positions including offensive tackle, quarterback, defensive tackle, and defensive end. I have learned many things from playing all these positions. I learned to be a team player while playing offensive tackle. I learned to master a calm demeanor and fast execution while quarterback, leading us to winning 3/4 tournaments. I learned discipline while playing defensive tackle. I learned speed playing defensive end. Even though I did not have any mentor, I was self-motivated in learning the game. I am now the Team Captain and also the President of the football club.
I am different from other recruits in academics because I messed up my freshman year and did not put my grades first. I ended up having a 3.33 GPA by the end of the year and was extremely disappointed in myself for not trying. I was determined from then on to focus on my grades first, then sports second. Since then, I have received a 4.0 GPA or higher. I am now in AP classes as well as Honors classes.
I am different from other recruits in character because I have a calm demeanor and don't like to attract attention. I am diverse in character because am an introvert, yet known to lead. I am able to vibe in crowds and also vibe alone. I am extremely hard on myself and always strive for more. I am determined to play football and also continue to receive a excellent education. I have people in my life that look up to me, I don't want to let them or myself down. I will succeed.
