Personal Statement
My name is Shane Mathis I am current 5'10" 180 pounds. I play multiple positions on the football field, like Safety, Running Back, Quarter Back, Punt and Kick Returner, and Receiver. I was starting Safety, Running Back, and Return Man on the the Varsity team. I helped lead my team this year to an overall record of 10-2. I have played on varsity since my freshman year.
I first started to become interested in football when I was four and I was playing flag football at the time but I didn't pull the flags I tackled the kids then I pulled the flags and I enjoyed doing it then I stayed with it and I loved football ever since. I have had many people and things influence me in my life, like every season moving teams. It helped me by making me learn very fast. I have learned a few things about myself while playing football like, never giving up on a play or during a game because I am a leader to my team mates and if they see me start to quit they will start to quit.
A feature that I have been told by my trainer Kelron Sikes is that "my feet are so fast its stupid." Another feature I have obtained running the football is that I have really good ball carrier vision and that I make fast and decisive cuts. My academic goals for high school are to graduate with a 3.25 GPA and to keep my one Advanced Placement class. My goals for college are to major in mechanical engineering and to get into a college and play football.
