Personal Statement

My name is Kolbe Stuckwisch an incoming Senior at Gilbert High School.  My aspiration is to go to a university where I can get an excellent education, complete an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology and my graduate degree in Physical Therapy, while also having the opportunity to play collegiate football.  My goal is to excel in the classroom, as I have in high school,  as well as on the football field.  My past 3 years have included achieving all A's in my course work in primarily Honors and AP level courses, productive junior year on the Varsity team, achieving 2nd Team All-Division Center. I continue ongoing strength and agility training during my off-season.  Over the summer I have achieved MVP Offensive Lineman for the USA Football LA Regionals and was the #2 offensive lineman at the USA Football National Team Training Camp.  This coming year, I will continue playing time as the Varsity Center, but hope to move into an Offensive Line Right Guard or Left Guard at the collegiate level.  I look to continue receiving high marks in all of my Honors and AP courses, so that my goal of getting accepted into a university, due to my grades and football playing ability, becomes realized.  While grades and football are important to me, the quality of how I treat others and approach life is what makes me approach every challenge I face differently.  I know that it takes strength to get through every challenge, but it also requires humility and a desire to overcome or transform.  I know in life that I can't do anything out of fear or be afraid to fail because it causes me to "play small".  My mantra is  "Everything I want is on the other side of fear, so work hard".  I work hard at every task I am given, but I am also compassionate to others.  I volunteer at my church and recognize the value of being a role model to other young men.  I want others to see that hard work and humility can exist together.  While I know that there are many recruits for coaches to consider, I strive to be the chosen candidate for a team to recruit because of my heart, drive and passion in all that I do in life.
