Personal Statement
My work ethic, love for the sport and athletic performance will hopefully be good enough to play at the highest level. Going in to my senior year, my personal focus has been keeping balance between athletics and academics. I am a quick, aggressive defender that brings a lot of heat and intensity. Not afraid to hit and stop the play, put pressure on the QB, etc. I've played offense and defense the entire game all of my high school years. I was named to All State 1st Team my Freshman and Sophomore year for defense and my Junior year for offense and defense. I've been working hard to get my GPA up. It is currently 2.85.
As a tri-racial (African-American, Hispanic, Native-American) athlete, I'm interested in schools with a diversity focus and multi-cultural programs. Both of my parents have been absent from my life my entire high school career. I'm grateful to my aunt who has been my guardian since Freshman year. Living with her and my uncle has made all the difference and has given me an environment that helps me believe I can go to college and get a good education.
In 2018, at the age of 15, I received the Citizens Award for Courage. This Award means alot to me. I learned how important it is to do the right thing no matter how difficult. I chose to testify as a one of the victims in a gang shooting incident at the community center I attended at the time. Giving back is important to me. I volunteer to pack food at Feed My Starving Children.
