My name is Max and I am currently a senior at Desert Edge High School in Arizona. I began to have an interest in football when I was in the 5th grade. When I was in the 5th grade, a childhood friend that was also my neighbor was playing outside with me and asked if I played any sports. At the time, I wasn’t playing any. He told me that he played football and said it was really fun and that I should try it. Soon after that, I began playing on a Pop Warner football team and found my love for the game. In playing football, I learned a lot of what I was able to do athletically. I also learned that I am very coachable and adaptable while playing football. I have been playing as a defensive end the last few years but this year, I was switched to play as a defensive tackle. This change in position made me nervous initially because it was something I wasn’t used to but, I have been able to embrace the position change and have been successful so far this season. Weight training is another passion of mine that I have gained because of football. I also have learned that football and weight training are both healthy stress reliefs for me.
One of my goals academically in high school is to get all As and Bs my senior year. One of the obstacles I have overcome is consistently improving my GPA each semester from when I started my freshman year. Football continues to motivate me to be successful academically because I realized I wanted to play at the top college level one day. My goals academically for college are to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and to get a Bachelor Degree in Business.
I am open to all options for me to continue playing football at the collegiate level. I want to find a college that is right for me and make my teammates proud on and off the field.
