As a student-athlete what makes me stand out is my high commitment level to my team and my sport, my drive for the highest academic success, and my ability to use my speed and leadership on the field. I’m considered an Athlete due to the wide range of positions I can play on the field. I strive on both offense and defense for my team. My primary position is running back. While running the ball I have the speed to get to the outside to make a play as well as the ability to make a play out of a bad situation. My defensive position is outside linebacker. I have the ability to chase down a defender, play tight man to man defense, and pack a blow to every hit no matter the size of the Athlete. On special teams, I have a great vision as a kick returner. I can elude defenders and use my speed to set up the team in great scoring position. I am a highly coachable player who can bring leadership to the field while playing at an intense and quick mindset. My goal is to become a professional football player and move on to be a sports analyst/journalist.
Background:
My Mother, a secretary at our local police department, has raised me as a single mother since the age of four. She has always supported me through all my sports.
As a Freshman in High School I was a three sport Athlete. I was on the Freshman football team as the starting Running Back, Outside Linebacker, and Team Captain. I spent this year learning pieces of the varsity offense, getting key experience with my future coaches and current coaches, and growing as a football player and leader. I started all games and was never off the field even for special teams. Stats were not recorded this year, but I had a total of 13 Touchdowns and our record was 7-1 . I was a freshman JV Basketball Starter and a Varsity Track Athlete as well.
As a Sophomore in high school my goal was to become a Starter for the Lake Havasu Knights football team. Every single play and formation given I would study it until I couldn’t possibly forget. I was always the first person on Hudl and the last person studying game film and plays. My coaches shaped me into being a starter and I proved I could get the job done. I started all 10 games as outside linebacker and the last 4 as running back. I was a full year kick returner and Team Captain as well. We had a rough 3-7 season, but I am excited to get the ball rolling for next year. My season awards were Rookie of the Year chosen by the Coaches and Honorable Mention all Region Award. I was also on the Varsity Basketball Team and Track Team. Due to the Corona Virus my Track season was cut short but every day I am working to better myself!
