Hello, my name is Jacob McCabe. I am from the class of 2018, at Page High School in Page, Arizona. I am a part of the Honors program and have taken Honors and Advanced Placement classes since Middle School. I like to challenge myself and learn all I can. Ever since I was a little kid, my dream was to play college football. I play OL and DL. I have been playing football since I was seven years old. I have been a varsity starter since Sophomore year. I have lettered both years so far. I also played basketball for my Freshman and Sophomore year.
In school I like to be active in many areas. I am a part of the PHS Jazz Band. I have been playing instruments since fifth grade. Currently, I can play all types of saxophones and the Trombone. We have two concerts annually, one in December and one in April. I am also a part of the Auto Tech program where we work on technical issues in vehicles. Currently my major project is fixing the transmission control module in my parents' 2008 GMC Acadia. I have interest in traveling and in helping people. The best trip ever made so far in my life was to Peru last summer. I went with a group of kids from our school to Peru to assist in a sustainability project in the village on Lake Titicaca.
I was raised up in a rodeo family. I have been rodeoing since I was little, starting off with "Muttin' Bustin.'" My step-father, mother, brother and I have a rodeo company, Monroe and Sons Rodeo Co., where we contract bucking stock to rodeos. We have hauled horses to the Indian National Finals Rodeo twice in Las Vegas. In the summer, just about every other weekend we are traveling to rodeos. I even Calf-roped in the National High School Rodeo Association my Freshman year, and Chute-dogged in the Junior Division my Eighth grade year, placing fourth in the state. My step father and his family also ranches. They have a ranch in Ganado, Arizona, and run about seventy head of Black Angus cattle. I like to help with the round-ups and branding. It is hard work but very rewarding. With my upraising and background, I have come to dream of getting a degree in education. I aspire to become a teacher at the high school level and coach football or other sports.
