My name is Nick Spohn and I am a Junior at Pinnacle High School (D1) in Phoenix, AZ graduating in 2017. I am currently 6'2, weigh 180 pounds, carry a 3.44 GPA, and received a 22 on my ACT. Last year (2014) I had 36 catches for 696 yards and 6 Touchdowns in a seven game season. This year (2015), with a Freshmen QB, I had 16 catches for 228 yards and 1 Touchdown. I know these numbers will increase dramatically my Senior year as we (the QB and me) both have had a year to build chemistry and timing.
You will see my skill set from my video links http://recruit-match.ncsasports.org/clientrms/athletes/2200856 or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqdJiAC97Xs&feature=youtu.be (last year’s highlights) or http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3907172/highlights/ (this year’s highlights). I am constantly working hard and will continue to work on route running, speed, strength, ball skills, blocking, and all aspects of being a great, not good, receiver at both the High School and College level. I will do the same if given the opportunity to play Cornerback, Safety or any position. I feel my best positions are Slot Receiver and/or Safety (Free or Strong), and also RB, but will happily play any position that you think will most help the team win football games.
I know my speed is not yet elite at 4.69, but I will work to lower my time over this offseason. I also know I need to put on another 5-7 pounds of muscle before my HS senior season. I am very athletic, have a high football IQ, and truly understand the game on both sides of the ball. My box jump is 52”, vertical jump of 30.3", short shuttle is 4.23 (laser timed), bench 225, squat 345 and clean 205.
I started every game at WR for our D1 Varsity team. I have faced heavily recruited/offered D1 college CBs and DBs in several this year. I enjoy the challenge and have been open on most routes. I match up physically and athletically. We have played the 17th ranked team in the nation (Chandler) and then the 40th ranked team in the nation (Saguaro). 1-1 in those games this year. As a senior, I expect to play both ways as well as all special teams, so I will have more video to show those skill sets.
If given the opportunity, I will do everything and anything possible to help win every game and play any position that will help make our team better.
Thank you,
Nick Spohn
PS I am getting interest from DI, DI-AA, DII, and DIII schools. I do not know where I will land, but I do know I will help my team win football games and represent the school as it should be represented. I am also interested in possibly enrolling (early) in the Spring of 2017.
