Personal Statement

I'm 6'5" and weigh 205 lbs. and i play Tight End and Defensive End. I run a 4.9 and love to hit, but I can catch better. My whole life i've lived and worked on my parents' farm which taught me the true meaning of hard work. My dad is very old-fashioned and has made sure i learned not to quit until all the work is done and to never put off for later what you can get done now. From my years in football i have found that these qualities ALWAYS apply to practice and games.
I am 6',5" and weigh around 205 with an athletic build. My max's in the weightroom aren't very high for a guy my height but I'm very work strong from years of farm labor and my core is also very strong from riding horses all my life. Football has always been one of my biggest passions and it is definitely my favorite sport so I am willing to go the extra mile to get better. From 7th grade through 10th grade I played offensive guard and defensive end but the summer before my junior year my coaches decided to move me to tight-end on offense. I was awarded 1st team all-conference for Tight-end the first year I played and so far this year i have a little more than half of the recieving yards in three receptions than I had all of last year with 15 receptions.
As far as where I want to go to college, I dont really have too much of a prefrence, I'm open to go to anywhere that'll have me. The way I see it, anywhere I go will be a blast and i'll be doing what i love; playing football. I would like to major in mechanical engineering but I'm also thinking about a law degree or maybe even something involved with agriculture. My realistic goals for college football is to get accepted to play and redshirt my freshman year so i can get bigger, faster, and stronger for the next year.
