Personal Statement
Ever since I started watching football, I've loved it. My mom didn't want me to play, but I moved to Arkansas with my dad and I immediately joined a youth team in 6th grade. I love football because it's hard work and you have to be tough to play, especially after high school. Nothing in football is just handed to you, you have to earn everything and I love that. I love the "grind" you have to go through to get to where you would like to be as a player and team. My sophomore year, my team went 7-4, losing in the first round of the playoffs. After that season, we hired a new head coach and in my junior year we went 4-7, again losing in the first round of the state playoffs. I think I learned a lot from my junior year. We expected to have a good year, but we weren't really pushed by our seniors that year like we were when I was a sophomore. Now that I'm a senior, I'm going to be the leader that my team needs and I plan on making sure I'm pushing guys from now until the last whistle blows in November.
