Hi, my name is Jacob Young. I am 6', 195 pounds, born and raised in Hanford, California. I am a sophomore at Hanford High School, where I play varsity football and baseball. My Father/ Coach introduced me to the game when I was a young boy that I have developed a strong passion for. I have dreamed of playing Division I football since I was a young and wont stop working until I get there. I started playing the quarter back position when I was six years old and just played my first varsity season this year. One quality I feel that I am very strong is leadership. I have been taught my whole life to lead by example, and I feel that I did a very good job of that this year. This season I went 171/253, 2,465 passing yards, 68% comp, 19 Touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. I was also fortunate enough to receive the honor of 1st team all league,1st team all-County team, and 2nd team all state sophomore. Obtaining a college degree is of the upmost importance for me and my family. Being able to play football while achieving that goal would truly be an amazing blessing and what I have been pushing myself and working so hard for.The college I choose is the college that I feel can offer me the best academic/athletic schooling. Thank you for taking your time to read my personal statement.
