DeWayne DeGuzman '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

My name is DeWayne DeGuzman currently a ALL League starting middle linebacker and Junior at Alameda High school in Alameda, California class of 2020. I inspire to reach the next level both academically and in football. 

I've recently started playing football during my freshman year.  Before football, I have played mostly AAU and school basketball since the 5th grade all the way until my sophomore year in High school.  After enjoying my freshman year in football I made a decision to just focus on football during my high school years.  In my second year of high school football I play on offense, defense, and special teams but I played mostly DE, and TE positions.  During my JV season I was moved up to Varsity for the remainder of the season.  

My first time playing a Varsity game I was nervous but surprisingly enough, playing defensive end I ended up making three solo tackles for loses against bigger and faster players.  During my Varsity year I started on offense, defense, and special teams and made All-League First Team as a middle linebacker.  Our team finished 8-2, our best record in over 12 years.  Next year I look forward in being team Captain and leading my team to another successful season. 

Three years ago I fell in love with the game of football and have continued to improve my game year over year.  I look forward to going to college but also look forward to continuing my football ambitions to the next level.  I what to take my education and football skills to a higher level in college.  With my continuous focus on education and my push of being one of the best football players my school has ever had I believe I can be an asset to a college in my future.  I don't want to be labeled as a " Student - Athlete" but a "Scholar - Athlete."
