Personal Statement
In my life, I have been part of many very competitive teams in both soccer and football. I made the ODP program in soccer my sophomore year in high school as well as took my travel team to regionals twice and nationals. The moment that made me want to pursue football whole heartedly and let soccer take a backseat was when I hit a game winning field goal against our high school rivals my senior year with 1.3 seconds left on the clock and went on to win 27-25. This was a time of pure euphoria, having everybody depending on me and having the confidence and trust in my abilities to hit a bomb with it all on the line helped me discover my true passion. Following my senior year I took the decision to take the Junior College route and I feel that I am now ready to contribute to the success of a university.
I have been very fortunate to be a part of some very good teams where I have been nominated captain in both soccer and football in high school as well as in my Junior College football team. Throughout the ups and downs of competitive sports, I have learned the value of a good days work, team chemistry, and self drive to be the best. Because of this, I believe that I do not only have the skill set to represent a university on the field, but the work-ethic, determination, character, and self earned swag. As a natural born competitor, I believe I have what it takes to be a big part and a leader of your team.
