I have been playing football for only five years, yet in those five years I have learned many things from this sport. I learned that football builds character. What I love that most about football is the grind. I have 10 plus workouts a week and some, I don’t feel like doing. Yet everyday I have to tell myself this will get me better. For the next season and then the next. I know I have some parts in my game I need to work on and that is why I keep working. I don’t settle for mediocre, I keep striving to be great.
Football has made me learn many things in life, and I think the biggest is to keep persevering even though things are not going your way. Once, I wanted to quit a team because I was not starting, and then I told myself before I went to sleep, keep working hard. Later that year, during our most important games, coach had told me he wanted me to start. Those games that were important was the Florida Pop Warner Super Bowl.
Ever since I began school I have always maintained over a 3.0 GPA. No matter what grade and subject I took, I just had to. I know academics will take you a long way so that is why I keep striving to do great in class and on the field. I never settle for less no matter whatever I am doing. Even if I am playing any card game I have to win. Competitive, decisive, and gritty are all things I am because of my work ethic. It doesn’t matter how much talent one has. People may not be able to control the amount of talent they have. But I believe that the two things you can control in life, is attitude and effort.
