Ruben Hernndez JC...Personal Statement
Football is my motivation. I play with 100% discipline and 100% heart. My mother is my support system and I would like to make her very proud of me. She works very hard to raise and support my 2 sisters, My new baby brother, and me and is behind us in any sport or activity we participate in. I have learned through her that if I want something bad enough, I have to go get it because it will not come to me. I have been playing sports since the age of 3 and when I was 7 football entered my life from then on I was hooked.
Now me being done with my two years of college football I now believe that I have worked on my craft a lot more and learned much more about football. My team this year finished with a bowl game and a win to finish off the season. So now I'm looking for more football and to even get better. I am also wanting to study some kind of medical career mostly lying towards radiology or nursing.

As the drills get more complicated, he struggles some. This is natural for someone his age. The more he practices specific movements the better he will get. BLOCKING IMG FOOTBALL Ruben plays with a great base all of the time. This is awesome for a blocker. He also plays with good pad level, which will give him the ability to use his strength to create movement on defenders. He did a great job of learning the 3 blocking concepts we focused on this week. RECEIVING IMG FOOTBALL Ruben has really good natural receiving ability. At times, he looks away from the football prior to it getting to his hands. This can cause him to bobble passes and is a common problem for pass catchers. We encouraged him to see the ball all the way to the tuck to make sure he is watching the ball all the way into his hands. STRENGTHS IMG FOOTBALL Overall, Ruben has the potential to be a great TE. He is a physical blocker with good strength and a solid base. He also catches the ball very well. As he continues to grow and develop in his size and strength, he will continue to improve. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT IMG FOOTBALL Ruben can grow in his agility and speed. He has decent speed but can help himself with work in these two areas. This will naturally happen as he ages and gets stronger but some specific work in this area would be helpful for him as an overall athlete.
