Personal Statement
My name is Lionel Anderson Jr. Better known as LJ. I have been playing football since I was 9 years old when I instantly fell in love with the sport. I played Varsity football in high school, starting in the 10th grade, earning All-League selection in the 11th and 12th grade while starting at cornerback and wide receiver. In February 2018 I accepted a full scholarship to play football at San Jose State University where I enrolled later that year. I redshirted my first season in college where I was able to learn how to become a valuable student athlete. The following year, I enrolled at Laney College where I played my freshman season as a lockdown cornerback. I had a strong year statistically with 4 interceptions and allowing 0 touchdowns as a defender. I also had 8 pass breakups and 32 tackles.
I strongly believe that I can play at the Division 1 level now that I have more college game experience. I will be dedicated 100% to making an impact on and off the football field at the next University that finds my skill set an asset.
