Hello my name is Cole Koffler. I am currently a student-athlete at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California. I am a wide receiver on the varsity football team. I have always worn the number 13 since I started playing football as a 4th grader. Not many athletes would choose this number; but I have always worn it with pride as a tribute to my dad who wore it at USC playing quarterback. Although my dad is my biggest influence in football, my grandpa is my biggest inspiration. He's taken care of me since day 1 and his belief in me and my abilities makes me to do great things on and off the field. Papa is one of the best people in the world.
I was practically born on a football field. My dad was a head football coach at Rosemead High School in California. I basically learned to walk under the Friday night lights. This was my very early introduction to football and I have loved it ever since. We are a football family. Friday nights were spent watching high school football. Saturdays were spent at the Los Angeles Coliseum for USC football and Sundays are rest days watching NFL games. Football is not only the game that I love, it is also a reason to spend time with family and friends making lasting memories.
I am a passionate player on the field that will do anything to help my team win the game. I am an all- league wide receiver and this year, I broke a record that was held at Edison since 2001. That record was the most receiving yards in a game. I had 9 catches for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns. Being a leader on the field I have always wanted to find a way to urge my team forward. I am a team player that would think about the team first and me second. I serve as a mentor to the younger players and I'm always ready to help them succeed. On my schools ASB I am the commissioner of pep and spirit. I have organized and ran student sections at sporting events at my school. Students on my ASB have said that I bring a certain energy that gets people going. Having that energy on the field and in school gives me the power and motivation to do great things. If you can install belief in a team or student body it can do wonders.
In the future, I hope to attend college and earn a degree in Communications. I hope to one day work for a sports organization in some capacity. Being in the sports environment motivates and energizes me. I am hoping that football will be my outlet to reach my dreams. I am READY to start this journey and make it happen for myself and my family.
