Brian Collins '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello Sir, 
My name is Brian Collins and I am six foot three, two hundred and eightyfive pound offensive lineman from Lodi California. My most important accomplishment is helping my team go farther than any other time in school history, and then returning to the playoffs the next year as well. This was the first back-to-back appearances in over twenty years for my school. We went to the section semifinals my junior year where we were defeated by eventual champion Pleasant Grove. I blocked for two one thousand yard rushers my junior year, one of which is currently playing at Northwestern University. I also had another 1000 yard rusher my senior year. I earned a second team all-league award my junior year and first team all-league and second team all-area my senior year. I have been described by coaches as physical, intelligent, and dominant by many different football coaches. I believe my hard work ethic is what has brought me to the level I am at. I only started playing football in high school, and I have come a long way from where I was at my freshman year. I am willing to give any school that gives me a look a chance, because I am used to moving around and would not mind leaving the west coast to play ball. Basically I am open to many different types of schools. I have not completely decided on a major yet, but I am strongly interested in becoming a teacher, or going into a profession involving the sports business. I took an off-campus Sports Medicine class my junior year and that showed me a lot of the skills one would need in that field. My athletic goal is to go to a team where I can make an impact while at the same time being challenged every step of the way. It seems that the more I grow as a football player it makes me more prepared for life after football. Since I have not played that long, I know I have a great number of skills I have yet to master. Also, I recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout. I hope this has helped in seeing the kind of person I am and I hope to speak with you in the future.
