I was the starting QB of my varsity football high school team my sophomore year, and we won the Omega League championship; the first playoff run for my school in 4 years. I also participated in soccer and volleyball, starting on each of these varsity teams. I transferred to Malibu HS my junior year to better prepare myself for college. While I continued to workout and prepare myself for playing, I was required to abide by the CIF mandated Sit Out Period for much of the season. I worked out with my new team as QB, and became eligible to play in the last four games of my junior year. This year, my senior year, I am the starting QB and loving life again!
In addition to dedicating myself to sports, especially my love for football, I work very hard studying and putting time into getting good grades. I have maintained a 3.50 cumulative GPA through the end of my junior year. I have processing difficulty, and possibly very slight dyslexia. I do not use it as an excuse. It's exactly the opposite. These learning differences have made me stronger and more determined to succeed! I believe in hard work to achieve my goals. I approach studying like my workout ethic. I am always one of the first players on the field and the last to leave. When I'm on the football field, I'm not someone with ADHD or learning disabilities, I'm a football player that wants to win games.
I am Jewish and my entire life I have been taught to give to charity, "give back" to my community, and heal the world. The past two summers I went to Montana for a week to work with the Crow and Blackfeet Nation Indians through an organization called Global Volunteers. I helped with work, paint, play with the children, and do whatever needs they had. This summer I traveled out of the country to Cuba to work with a poverty stricken area in need, and in addition to providing whatever assistance I could to help, it was an amazing experience. Character and integrity as a person, player and teammate is very important to me. I am a team player, but do not drink, smoke or party - and I still have lots of friends!
