I'm a 6' 245lbs defensive lineman. I started playing football in eighth grade and then three years of high school football. As a sophomore I was bumped up to varsity. During my senior season I was defensive player of the week for each week that I played. In the past offseason I worked out six days a week all summer. I had more than twice the requirement for days in the weight room and that earned me a captain spot. I offered to help my younger teammates in the weight room and helped them keep up with their grades during the season since I have a 3.4 gpa.
Halfway through the season I injured my hand that took me out. For the five weeks that I did play we won 4 out of 5 games losing one to a higher division team, and when I went out we lost 4 out of our last 5 games. Even though I was injured I went to practice everyday and participated in any drills I could. Being out for the second half of my season I know I made an impact on the team. This injury also made me care more about football and pushed me into wanting to continue playing at the college level and even become a coach.
Besides my football interest, I also have a strong passion for music. I have played drums on the worship team since seventh grade and have played with professional musicians in the Mammoth Lakes Jazz Jubilee.
I prefer a smaller school and/or a JC for more playing time to prepare me for playing at an upper level and a school that has a strong music program. However I would be interested in any school that can offer both football and music.
Because we are a one income family and I have a special needs downs syndrome brother who needs special care, I will need financial aid to attend college. I am pursuing the FAFSA forms and because of my Native American heritage I am gong to apply for Native American scholarships.
