Hello. My name is Kyle Ericsson. I believe that I would be a great addition to your organization because of my academic and athletic work ethic. I wanted to play football because of the team aspect. I truly believe that we win as a team and also lose as a team. I enjoy working hard to reach and accomplish my goals. At the beginning of my high school football career, I wanted to play receiver and corner. I quickly learned that being flexible in where I played helped my team and enabled me to play as a starter at the JV level as a linebacker. This was because I told my coaches "Yes" to any position that they thought I would be an asset to the team. After the 2013 season, I decided that I would really love to try punting. Through out the off season, I would practice everyday for two to three hours and then go condition with my team. With the help of an ex-collegiate kicker/punter, Scott Enos, I continued to improve exponentially.
I attended the Chris Sailor Kicking Camp this summer. Though I have only been punting since last December, I was rated a 4 stars out of 5. Since that camp, I have improved tremendously. I continue to strive to be the first one at practice and the last to leave and I was named as team captain at the varsity level. I have also maintained 3.4 GPA academically throughout my high school football career. I have also helped my friends improve their grades, some of whom were on the football team. I am hoping that taking the next step as a collegiate punter, I will continue to grow as a football player and as a person.
