Hello Coach,
Let me first introduce myself. My name is Christian Licciardi. I graduated from Orange Lutheran High School, of CA, in 2011. Orange Lutheran is one of the premier HS football programs that plays in the very competitive Trinity league in CA. Currently I am attending Citrus City College, to complete my AA.
Since the age of 7 (the first year I put pads on) I knew that football would become a vital part of my life, and that I would play at the top level. With each passing year, my passion and intensity to play the game grew, not to mention my size. Today, I continue to grow and mature, not only as a player, but as a young man. Setting a goal at a very young to one day play in the NFL has taught me how overcome many obstacles that have presented themselves along my journey. One of my most recent obstacles has taught me some life lessons which will stay with me forever. You see, I had earned a D-1 scholarship, and yet I failed to recognize the honor and the value of receiving such a privilege. Because of my lack of appreciation for my scholarship, I did not apply myself to my academics, and therefore, I fell out of NCAA eligibility. The pain I felt in hearing my coach tell me that I could no longer play for him, crushed me beyond what I can explain. I took a year off to re-evaluate myself, my life, and my dreams. I realized I could not deny the dream that has lived inside of me all these years, is real, and that I cannot ignore it. My dream has always been to play D-1 football, and then ultimately playing in the league.
So, here I am, working harder than ever to regain my eligibility academically, while continuing to advance my football abilities, which will enable me to play at the collegiate level once again.
Coach, the regrets I have experienced over the past 16 months, I would not wish on anyone, and yet, the lessons I have learned, will allow me to help others when they face their own struggles. With that being said, you can rest assured that when you consider me as one of your athletes, you should know that I will never, never, ever again, take any gift given to me for granted. Therefore, know that the value I will bring to your program, (besides my ability to play this game of football) will be a student athlete that will exemplify all the qualities that every collegiate coach wants and expects from their scholarship players.
I'm certain that you have many great choices for who will get to play for you. It is with extreme confidence that I tell you this, as you spend a few minutes reviewing my profile and my highlight videos, you will see why I am one who deserves a closer look. Thank you for your time & consideration.
Respectfully yours, Christian Licciardi
