Personal Statement
My name is Thomas "Caleb" Melton, but I go by Caleb. I am 6' 3" 210lbs and can run a 4.8 40-yard dash as of right now. I have been playing football for 7 years and have been a captain every year. I was voted MVP of my freshman team, Defensive MVP of my JV team, and as a junior and a senior I recieved the "Bleeding Blue Award". This award is given to the player that represents Cougar Football on the field, off the field, in the classroom, and in the community. I also recieved first team All-League honors as a TE as a junior and second team All League tight end as a senior. This year I started on defense as DE, due to the needs of my team. I have always played middle or outside linebacker and feel this is my true defensive postion. Although, I am willing to fit in anywhere needed to play. I feel my greatest strengths are not only my athletic ability, but also my leadership qualities. I treat every person who is part of my program with respect, no matter who they are. I take every opportunity to better myself as a player and welcome constructive criticism. I am a true student of the game and take my responsibilities on the field very seriously. It has always beeen a dream of mine to play football as long as I possibly can. College is my obvious next step and I am extremely driven to get there. I would like to play at the highest level I can, I am open to any school where I am going to to get the opportunity to play while getting an education. My major is physical therapy with an emphasis on sports therapy. No matter where life takes me, football will always be a part of it, whether I'm a player, trainer, or a coach.
