My athletic goal would be to be part of a team that felt like a family, where the players viewed each other as brothers, and played for each other.
My strength in character has been forged over the past 9 years through hard work and perseverance through my participation in athletics and agriculture. One of my strongest attributes is my work ethic in the weight room, and I am coach able.
Athletically, I have put in the time and effort to improve my skills for the sport of football. From my junior year (2015) to this season (2016) I added 35-40 lbs to my body through diet and focused strength and conditioning in my weight room class. During this period my speed also improved as my body weight & mass increased with my increased strength levels.
I attended the Blue-Grey football combine in San Jose, California during the spring of 2016 and was selected to move on to their RedZone combine but family summer plans prevented me from attending the combine offered in California.
I attended the Southern Oregon football camp for my second time in June 2016 and was selected to play on the Camp Renegade Varsity team as an offensive guard and defensive end. We won the camp team competition beating some established Oregon high school teams.
Academically I am looking forward to pursue a career in Agriculture, specifically, Soil Chemistry. My involvement in agriculture spans the past 9 years through 4 H and FFA participation. My high school class load has included college prep and advance prep classes in the core subjects of science, history, math, and English. Electives have included 3 years of spanish, 3 years of strength & conditioning, and 4 years of agriculture.
I've shown 8 market steers at the local fair. During the past 9 years I started a small cattle breeding project and currently have 2 cow/calf pairs and a bred heifer. The cows are currently bred, and I have a weaned heifer and a steer for next years fair. Four of my calves have been shown in fairs, and all have made the champion drive. The high quality calves have been achieved through breeding my cows A.I.
Other agriculture achievements include:
The combination of Athletics and Agriculture have taught me the value of hard work, teamwork, perseverance, and giving me the ability to overcome obstacles.
I am looking forward to pursuing academics and athletics at the next level.
