Personal Statement

My name is Diego Marquez and I am 6’1”, 200 pounds. I am currently ranked as a 5 star kicker and the top college transfer kicker in the nation by Chris Sailer Kicking as well as a 5 star kicker and top college transfer by Kohl's Kicking for the Class of 2016. In 2013, I chose to attend California Lutheran University and play football. I had the opportunity to play my freshman year and earned the starting position for all kicking duties my sophomore year. I finished 38/41 in PAT's (92.7%), had a 60.2 yard kickoff average, and 11 total touchbacks. I also helped my team and finished second in scoring with 50 points. I didn't get an opportunity to kick many field goals, but my longest in a game was from 35 yards. I have been working hard and my longest field goal in practice has been from 66 yards to date.

I decided to transfer from Cal Lutheran University and sit out the 2015 season. I am currently attending Crafton Hills College (JC) and am ready to make an immediate impact to any school which is looking for a strong kicker in Fall 2016.

I was the kicker for the Varsity Football team at Redlands High School in 2011 and 2012. I had a great senior year and was named special teams player of the week, was selected as second team all league, and named All-City Offense during the 2012 season. In addition to playing football, I was a three-sport Scholar Athlete in Varsity Soccer, Track & Field, and Football. I was also a member of various clubs, a peer leader, and was on the Honor Roll.
