My goal is to make it to college and to excel in school and sports along the way. Ever since I was little I can remember watching the Pros and dreaming that one day I could be there. I believe that one day I will have achieved my goal of playing college football and hopefully go on to play professionally. My parents have always taught me to put in 110 percent effort every chance I got and to make sure I take the chance to excel in whatever it is I do, on or off the field. I always push myself to go harder, dig deeper and dream bigger. I take school just as serious as sports and I take pride in getting good grades because without an education my dreams and opportunities would be very limited. I am very proud to have maintained a 3.67 GPA since my freshman year.
As a teammate, I'm not too worried about the name on the back of my jersey, I'm more concerned about the name on the front. During each season, each sport, my team is my second family and my second home. I am proud that I have not had a teammate or coach that I could not get along with. I've always been taught to lead by example, which pushes me to work hard and strive for the best so that the people around me will excel too. I know that if I don't push myself in all situations, I'm not only letting myself down, but I am letting my brothers down as well.
Aside from football, I've been a super-sport oriented kid all of my life. I started baseball at 5 years old, basketball in 6th grade and I just finished my 6th year of football. During my freshman year, I was the back up to an excellent quarterback (and role model) on the varsity football squad. Also during this first year, I quickly earned a starting position on the varsity basketball team and I was a full time starter, at pitcher and first base on the junior varsity baseball team. I was a NCS scholar athlete in all three sports my freshman year. My sophomore year was more productive and successful. I became the starting varsity quarterback for every game of the season, leading the team to league playoffs and breaking school passing TD records. I remained a starter on the varsity basketball team and moved up to the varsity baseball team this year, again earning NCS scholar athlete and Sophomore of the year awards.
My personal philosophy is: To be a leader, you must first be a great student. Sometimes it's okay to step back and find a role model and do as they do. But then there's the time to step up and show your game and that's what I love. I love waking up every day waiting to prove my ability to the people who ever doubted me and make proud the people that have supported me along the way and most importantly, to myself. And lastly but still very important, I love working in the community. Whether it's youth sports, to helping clean up sports parks and playgrounds, to helping do handiwork at hospitals.
I am eager to continue this path to see what the future has in store for me. I've always dreamed of being a Division 1 Quarterback, and I'm willing to make it happen, no matter what it takes, I will work my hardest and push my farthest, until I achieve my goals. No only in football, but to have a successful life and education.
