Hunter Probst '26 Recruiting Profile

            I am a 6’4” tight end, punter and defensive end from Santa Rosa, California.  I played on the junior varsity team at Maria Carrillo High School during my freshman year. I am currently attending Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park.  As a transfer, I played the entire season on JV getting as many reps as possible (CA transfer rules state I must play the entire season on JV or sit out the first half of the season on varsity).  

            I am looking for a good academic school in college where I can become an integral part of the football program.  My motivation, work ethic and support system at home, combined with my strength and size, are what set me apart from other athletes.

            My football journey started in the summer of 2022.  The start of high school football conditioning changed who I am today.  I went to the first day of conditioning with a very fixed mindset, telling myself I had to be there.  But the seniors’ enthusiasm was contagious, and my mindset completely changed.  Then my daily habits changed.  In 8^th grade, I had to be pulled out of bed to get to school on time.  Now I have a reason to wake up.  I am up at 5:45 each morning of my own accord, making my breakfast and food for the day, anxious to excel in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the field.  The day my freshman football season ended, I started planning my off-season.  I went to speed and agility sessions.  The drills and techniques that I learned have been implemented into my weekly workouts.  Six days a week in the off-season I am doing speed & agility, strength & conditioning, plyometrics, and/or running routes & punting.    

            I went to football not knowing what to expect at the start of my freshman year.  Now it is what gets me up each morning.  With my motivation and work ethic, I know I can overcome any obstacles and become a valuable part of your program.
