Personal Statement

I am a serious student athlete that has excelled at both football and school at one of California's premier college prep schools, Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego California. as a senior I am a team Captain.  In my first three games I have 47 tackles, 8 sacks, 4 caused fumbles, and two qb hurries that resulted in interceptions. I also average 9 yards per carry at fullback.  We have played top tier competition (Mission Hills, Jordan in Utah, Torrey Pines, Helix, and Vista Murrietta).  We were the Division 1 San Diego Section CIF Champions in 2013 and finished ranked #13 in California by Max Preps.  Our coach does not typically allow us to play both ways.  I play the entire game at Defensive End and I play full back in the Chicago package on offense.

I was Team Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All League Defense, Finalist for All LEague Defensive Player of the Year, Football Foundation Award Recipient, Great American Rivalry Student Athlete of the year, and UT All Academic Team

I am a team player and I know how to win.  I have experience playing both sides of the ball and special teams.  I have played defensive end, inside linebacker, fullback, halfback, and z back as well as kick off and kick return.   My junior year I started all games at defensive end and I lead the team in quarterback sacks and tackles for loss.    I play well in big games.  When we played Vista Murrietta, the top ranked team in California, it was nationally televised and I had a very good game.  The announcers on Fox Sports commented on my speed and agility as well as my tackle for loss against the top recruit in California, who has committed to USC, Su'a Cravens.  I also played very well in the Great American Rivalry game against our main rivals Saints.  I had 18 tackles in that game and a game clinching sack in the win.  I played in the Brothers In Arms Classic this year and helped to shut down one of the nations top QB recruits, who is committed to Wisconsin.   My athletic versatility is an asset to any football program that has interest in serious student athletes.

I would like to go to a school where I can continue to develop as a student, a football player, and an overall good human being.  I am interested in math and science and hope to be a professional in the medical field or in engineering.
