Personal Statement
My ultimate goal is to get a scholarship not only to play football, but also to get a great education. I see myself succeeding in the sports world while establishing myself as a student first and an athlete second. I have always maintained an above average GPA, right around a 3.5, so success is not unfamiliar to me. What makes me different from other recruits is that I understand exactly what it means to succeed and to fail. I've been a part of a losing team, a winning team and a great all-star team. I understand better than most people what it takes to take a mediocre team and transform it into a great team, above all, it takes heart, of which I have miles and miles of.
Throughout my life I have always understood the financial struggles of myself and my peers. I have used this true understanding of struggle to remind myself to stay humble and never fall below the high expectations that I put on myself. There is always something else, an X-factor if you will, that I need to have to get better as a teammate and as a person in society. This sets me apart from everyone else because I understand that everyday I will work harder and truly give 100% effort in all facets of my life in order to continue to grow as leader, not only on the football field but in the classroom as well. I strive to help others grow as I do, and to make any team I am on as successful as possible.
I started playing football at a very young age and over this time I have learned many things, most of which extends beyond the field and into all other aspects of my life from relationships, to homework, to the true understanding of commitment. I have played every position on the field so I am very in tune with football as in what each player needs to make a team better. I see myself as an adaptive player and student, always striving to succeed and to learn as much as possible every day. And with this in mind, I believe I would be a valuable asset to any team.
