Personal Statement
My name is Leonel G. Padron JR and I am a Hispanic/Bylingual, I am 5'8 and weigh 200lbs. I was born in Mission Hills California in Holy Cross Hospital on December 29 1993. My parents are originally from Mexico my mother Lizet Padron was born in Tijuana Mexico she is one of five siblings and my father Leonel Padron SR in Guanajuato Mexico he is one of eighteen siblings. I am one of three children I have an older sister Illene Padron and a younger brother Isaac Padron. I also have a nephew named Anthony Perez he is the son of my sister. We all live together in the same household. I attend Sylmar high school and I am going to be a senior this upcoming year. My grade point average is 3.6 as of right now I am planning to improve it by taking more AP classes my senior year. I have also taken my first SAT and scored a 1080 but I will be taking it a couple more times to improve it as well. I passed the CHASSE the first time I took it. I enjoy going to school and learning things I never knew about, I also love to be challenged in the class room as I do on the field. I have taken three years of Math (my eleventh grade year I took honors Pre-Calculus), English, and Science I am planning to take AP Calculus, AP English, and AP Environmental Science. I have also taken two years of American Sign Language and History (my eleventh grade year I took honors American History) and I am planning to take another year of American Sign Language and AP Government. I have also taken psychology, Computers, Drawing, Health, and life skills for one year. I enjoy all subjects but my top subject would have to be Math, History, and Sign Language. I was awarded Counselors Honor Role my Ninth and Tenth grade years. I would like to major in law or in the medical field but have not decided yet. I have been playing football ever since I was six years old. I started on a Pop-Warner team called the North Valley Golden Bears. I have been playing for twelve years. I have always played the same position as I did when I was small Line Backer, Full Back, and Wedge buster. I started every year I played in Pop-Warner as I have in high school. I started my ninth and tenth grade years in Junior Varsity and my junior year I started in Varsity. My ninth and tenth grade years I was named a captain and my upcoming senior year I was also named a captain. My ninth grade year I was awarded best defensive rookie of the year. My tenth grade year I was named first team all mission league, best defensive player of the year, and best linebacker of the year. My eleventh grade year I was awarded most improved player of the year. My forty yard dash time is 5.0 and my vertical is 30�??. My bench max is 285lbs and my squat max is 305lbs as of now but will improve over the summer. I enjoy playing sports but my main sport is football. I also play baseball and have played baseball ever since I was four. On my free time I like to go out and spend time with family and friends. My hobbies are drawing, playing sports, and being around my family. I am out going, Humble and love helping others; I like to lead and lead by example and want to attend a college where I excel in my education and athletics.
