Alfred Robinson '20 Recruiting Profile

Dear Prospective Coach,

My name is Alfred Robinson and I am a 3-sport athlete. When on a team, I am 100% committed. In sports, I can successfully play multiple positions. I have been training in 3 sports at a high level since the age of 5 (football, basketball & baseball). I'm a team leader and motivator with a high level of energy and knowledge of the game. Although my grades have been average the first 2 years of high school, I have learned many lessons and now strive for excellence.

When I began my athletic journey at West High School the Football’s previous record was 0-10 at all levels, which meant to me I had to go straight into rebuild mode as I was used to be on winning teams. However, I was ready to take on that challenge.  We won 3 games freshman year and then went 5-5 the next year. The impact I made long with the team and new coaching staff was extremely positive. That experience has taught me that I can be on a rebuilding team and I’m mentally prepared to do whatever it takes to get the win at any school I attend. Going to Merrill West High has taught me how to win and lose and how to overcome adversity. I had a great athletic summer, in addition to having a personal trainer, I attended 5 College football camps and had a great preseason, this year was supposed to be my breakout year. However, during the 1^st game of the season I had an unfortunate collar bone fracture on my non-throwing arm which took me out for the season. I was devastated, not only did I feel like I let  my team down but I let myself down because I had worked so hard on the off season to help put my team in a better position. Though the experience was awful I learned a lot from it. I’m hungrier, more determined and more grateful for every opportunity that comes my way.   If on your team, I can guarantee that each game I will leave all that I have out on the field no matter what position I’m in.

The camps I will be at is UCLA,Sacramento State, San Jose City, and UC Davis
