My name is Gary Johnson. I play running back and linebacker for Westlake High School in Westlake, CA. I am 6’0 195lbs. I played my freshman and sophomore year at Quartz Hill High School. I am currently a junior due to graduate in 2021. My goal is to play Division 1 football at the most competitive level to prepare me for my life long dream to play in the National Football League. Also, I am interested in studying Athletic Training, Kinesiology, and or Science Exercise.
In my varsity career, so far, I have accumulated 81 solo tackles, 47 assistant tackles, 5 sacks for a total loss of 47 yards, 1 interception and 2 fumble recoveries. Last season I received the Defensive MVP award, and voted as one of the All Ventura County Linebackers. I also compete in Track and Field in the 100M, 200M, Long Jump and 4x100. My cumulative GPA is a 3.0.
I am self disciplined, and am always challenging myself to grow and learn as an individual and as an athlete. I'm passionate about football and have been playing since I was 7. The things I admire most about football is the brotherhood, improving performance ,mental focus, competing, the adrenaline rush, and learning from my coaches and mentors.
