Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is a Miguel Rojas I am currently in 12th grade attending Fallbrook High School in Fallbrook,California. In my freshman season, our team was able to win league in just our first season playing together. During this past season of my 10th grade year, I was able to grow as a student-athlete after we had an unfortunate losing season. Where i learned to become a leader and put effort in encouraging my teammates to keep fighting and not give up. In a short time of the football season I learned key values of teamwork and commitment because every player is essential and a key asset to make a team successful. Football has never been a family sport, soccer has always been but when my older brother played football during his high school years I became more influenced to play football. I didn't know how our soccer skills could be used in another sport and it gave me this passion to find out more and play this sport in my high school years.
My goals for high school academically speaking is to graduate for high school and be accepted into a University/College with a good academic program in Psychology which is my major in which I would like to work in the future as well as compete at the collegiate level. Due to my short height as not being tall like everyone else on the team I had to overcome a numerous amount of insults, jokes, and a continuous contest for the kicking position. I maintained focused, determined, and relaxed in pressure moments where I needed to execute during the games and practice. As I successfully won these numerous battles for the position and was giving the start position. Many of my teammates underestimated me just for my short stature and coming in as a new player into the football program not knowing anything about kicking they knew I was set to fail but with the will and passion and practice I wasn't going to give up. As a 5 year captain at my hometown`s soccer team I know I can be able to transfer that leadership, work-ethic, the pure focus, and discipline into your program.
Thank you for your time and have a great day,
Miguel Angel Diego Rojas
