Zay Alvarez '22 Recruiting Profile

Basketball is my passion.  I had 3 football offers to play DB, but decided to turn them down in order to pursue my goal of playing college basketball.  

As a 2x-2-sport all-conference and all-academic athlete, I know all about hard work and dedication, on and off the court, and will bring that to any program I'm apart of.  Also as team captain for both basketball and football I'm a leader that motivates my teammates and wants the best for them.  

As a 2x-All Conference DB I am strong, physical, and am able to lock down the other team's best receiver. This translates perfectly to guarding quick guards by being physical and staying in front of them.  This is also why I was one of the top rebounding guards, and leaders in steals.  

In addition to my commitment on D, I know how to put the ball in the hoop - whether it's driving to the basket to finish, knocking down the open 3, or creating for my teammates; which is why I led my team in scoring and assists during league play.
