Michael Cornelius '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a running back and line backer from Colorado Springs.  During my sophomore year at Liberty High School I was a "go to" player for the varsity team, playing in all games, often as a starter.  My abilities and devotion to the team resulted in my first football letter.

My GPA is currently a 3.92 and I have acquired a college level summer internship with BCER Engineering, a local company,  last summer and have been asked to return this summer.  After high school I plan to pursue a career in mechanical or electrical engineering.  Sports have always pushed me to worker harder and excel not only on the field, but also in all areas of my life.  During my three years in high school I have earned 6 letters, three in wrestling,  two in football and one in Track.  I also Have an Academic All State Award for Football 2019.  I did suffer a season ending injury during the first game of the season this year but I am healed and back at it.  Surgery kept me out of about half of the wrestling season as well but I still managed to come back strong and Qualify for the state championship.  I earned Academic All State for both football and wrestling my Junior year. I was the MVP of the Liberty wrestling team my junior year.   Throughout my life I have been put into many different leadership roles.  Some of these roles include being a Rotary Champion (sophomore and junior years), a peer tutor, and a member of National Honor Society.  All while striving to excel as a varsity player in football and a varsity team captain for wrestling during my sophomore and junior years.

I am looking for a team that will push me harder and a college that will help me to pursue my goals.  I will strive to be an important member of any team, given the opportunity, and hope to help others gain as much from me as I do from them.   I want to be able to give back as much as I can to help the community and motivate others.
