William Deater '27 Recruiting Profile

I'm a multi-sport athlete with a love for competition, self-improvement, sportsmanship and teamwork. I have trained jiu jitsu since age 5 and have been playing competitive sports since sixth grade. One thing you don't see on a profile like this is my internal motivation. Having parents who retired from the U.S. Military and grandparents who are law enforcement and military, there is a level of commitment and effort I bring to everything I do. I enjoy working toward personal and team goals and pushing myself to be my best. I firmly believe you play like you practice and I give everything I have during practice because I owe it to my coaches, my team and myself. As a Christian I firmly believe I am to do all things for God's glory. While I'm not perfect I strive to always represent God and my family through my actions, thoughts and words. Academically, I attend a private Christian school and our academic programs are quite rigorous. I am thankful for the opportunity to learn at my school as it encourages me to be a life long learner and to pursue knowledge every chance I get.
