My name is Austin Gilbert. I am a junior attending Legend High School in Parker, Colorado. As a freshman I played in both the freshman and JV games. I started as a sophomore at inside linebacker and defensive end hybrid position. In 8th grade I attended FBU Top Gun in Williamsburg, Virginia. That was an experience I will never forget. It was a great eye-opening experience and a way to match my skills with some of the best in the country. It showed me that I have to keep working at what I am doing to get better and separate myself from the pack. I have been contacted by IMG Academy to attend a camp down in Florida. Some key information is that I bench press 260 lb., squat 530 lb., power clean 290 lb.. I joined the 750 club as a freshman and I keep working to better all my lifts. I have now broken the squat record for my school as a junior. I was blessed to be recognized among other coaches to be selected on the 2nd team all conference. There is always room for improvement. My dream is to play at the highest level I can possibly be at. I will not take no for an answer there is always a way. I am still young so for a type of major I am looking for is something around the sports world. I love sports and never want it to be out of my life. My goal is to get into a Division 1 college and become a starter. I want to also become a difference maker on the field. Someone I idolize in football at the collegiate level is Manti Te'o. He is an absolute beast, I admire his work ethic and determination on the field. I want to be like him when I am playing the game of football. I am willing to put in as much time and effort it takes to become a Division 1 athlete. I have surrounded myself with great players and coaches. They have all made me into the type of player I am now. They have all taught me that I can not tell people how bad I want something because that does not matter. What matters is that I have to work for it and go get it. Nothing is given in this world, you have to go and get what you want. College location is not a factor to me, I want a college that can offer a great academic program suited to my interest in the career I am interested in. My current GPA is a 3.1 I am working hard to get it higher and higher. Something I try to work my hardest more than football is school work. Please send me any information, camps, or questionaries about your college. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.
