Thank you for reading my personal statement. I just finished my junior year as a starter at running back and strong safety on the Masuk High School (CT) varsity football football team. I have started every game at the varsity level during my freshman through junior years. I aspire to play college football at a strong academic institution and at the highest level that my abilities allow me. I am a 3.85 student and will maintain this average. I had approximately 1,700 yards of total offense during 2017 (1,300 rushing and 400 receiving), 16 touchdowns and averaged approximately 10 total tackles per game. In my three-year career, I have approximately 3,900 yards of total offense. As a running back and defensive back, I have been named first team CT Large Division All-State for two years along with first-team All-Conference (Southwest Conference - CT) for three years. In the spring of 2016, I ran track and qualified for the CT Large Division state tournament for the 100 meter dash and as part of a 4X100 meter team that qualified for the New Balance national tournament.
Statistically, I have been timed in the 40 yard dash anywhere between 4.6 and 4.7. Currently I bench press 325 lbs, squat 475 lbs, and dead lift 505 lbs. In the offseason, I worked tirelessly with a prominent strength trainer 5 days a week and plan to significantly improve these measurable numbers as I grow. I am "all in" academically and tirelessly working to be the best athlete I can be.
I have loved football more than anything since I first put on a helmet at age 7. My priorities are well established and I will not allow anything to divert my path. I realize that I have to take control of the "recruiting process." I am recognized as extremely coachable and a player with a tremendous mental makeup. In summary, I strongly believe that I am a person with great character and integrity. I will be outstanding on the field, in the classroom and socially. Nothing will get in my way of fulfilling my dream. I will be a valuable asset to any team I play on. Thank you.
