Thomas Corley '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Thomas Jackson Corley, but I have always gone by Jack. As an elected Captain of the Stonington  High School Football Team, my goals for the next year are to lead my team to State and to a perfect winning season for my senior year in the Fall of 2017. After high school, my goal is to attend a university that is competitive athletically and has a solid academic reputation. My ideal college is one that has a top-notch football program with coaches that will continue to mold me into the monster Defensive and Offensive player that I have been developing into for the past six years.  Commitment is my strongest asset as I will do whatever it takes to reach my goals and the goals of my team, as well as to succeed in everything I do. My work ethic and an honest fear of failure set me apart from other recruits. I will always be the first one to arrive at practice/weights/film etc. and the last one to leave for the day. I strive to be the most prepared and the hardest worker in every room. Academic- wise, I am a  hands-on learner, and work 10-15 hours each week to pay for extra advanced mathmatics tutoring.  My spring 2017 ACT score is 31/36, so I plan to focus on improving my SAT scores this coming fall. Although my 1240 SAT score is solid, I will be retaking it along with the Written SAT and the World History SAT to improve my overall profile. This past school year, I was successful in raising my GPA from 2.75 to a 3.1 Core GPA, so that my academic goals this coming year are to continue raising my Comprehensive GPA to a solid 3.2+.
