My name is Alex Huard, and I live in Laval, Quebec Canada. I attend high school at The Taft School in Watertown, CT, where I am currently a senior. I'm a Captain of the varsity football team and starting wide receiver and defensive back. I also return punts and kickoffs for my team, and I'm the place-kicker. I am also an Honors student at Taft.
My dream is to play college football at a D-IA American university, but I am also open to the Ivy League and high academic D-IAA and D-III schools. Because my family lives in Canada as I attend school in the US, I will need an athletic scholarship or financial assistance in order for me to go to college in America.
Although I am a versatile football player and I can play multiple positions on the football team, my preference is to play wide receiver in college. Because of my speed, quickness, and elusive running ability after the catch, I am a threat to score from anywhere on the football field. A tough receiver, I am not afraid to catch the ball over the middle or in traffic. Because of my leaping ability, most of the time I will win the battle for a jump ball, whether in the endzone for a touchdown or on the field of play for a completion. I'm highly competitive, and I love the game of football.
My ideal athletic environment is one where there is highly competitive football with outstanding coaches who love what they do, and with teammates who want to win every game and be the best they can be at their position. I would like to go where I will have a fair opportunity to compete to play as a freshman.
Academically, I'm not sure exactly what I want to study yet because of so many interests, but that's also why a school with a broad range of academic majors and minors is important to me too.
