I have been in love with football since the first day my father taught me how to throw a ball, I was 4 years old. I also knew I wanted to be the quarterback, the leader on the field. My father taught me how important of a team sport it was. He always explained to me that football was more then a game, that it took heart, a hardwork ethic, sportsmanship, to succeed on & off the field. I learned from the wins & loses the type of character values that have molded me into the person I am today, and will carry with me for the rest of my life.
I began my football dream at 7 years old, playing in our local Pop Warner League. It was during this time I learned that academics were equally important, if not more, as playing football, that the two went "hand in hand". I have team mates from those Pop Warner days I still play with today. As we look forward to our coming year as Seniors in High School, we all agree we want it to be our best year, knowing it may be our last together. We want to win a State championship just like we won our conference championship our last year playing Pop Warner.
I've always known that my education would include college. My parents have always assured me I would have the opportunity they never had. I learned from them that a quality education is a "must have" in today's competative world. Being a competative & determined individual is natural for me, but football has enhanced those qualities. I have dreamed of playing college football since I first began playing. Nothing I have enjoyed more in my life than watching college football on Saturday's. My parents took me to my first college football game at Florida Field to watch the Gators play when I was 10 years old. I told my dad that day I did not care if I only played on the kick-off team, I wanted to play for the Gators. I loved fans cheering for their school, the bands playing the fight songs and how its about the traditions and pride for your school.
I have grown up alot since I was 10, and I know playing for the Florida Gators may not be in my reach, but I know in my heart their is a college or university my athletic & academic abilities can contribute to their program. I hope this college and I find each other.
