Hello , my name is Kyle Herrera and I have been playing football for over 11 years and it’s been the sport that’s got me through a lot of hard times. I started football with the Davie Broncos in Kindergarten with a developmental group which had consisted of young kids starting to learn the game. Ever since then I had fallen in love with the game, the energy and aggression of it. Then about two years after my first season my sister started cheerleading at the same youth group that I played. After one hot summer game she had a grand mal seizure while walking to our car . We took her to the hospital and learned she has epilepsy and cortical dysplasia of the brain. That was a turning point in my football career because it marked the start of when I would play for someone other than just myself. Seeing how strong she was with all the MRI tests and going on medication. I started playing for my sister who couldn’t do a lot of athletics and found joy in watching me at every game.
We moved to Orlando a few years later due to my father‘s job and I continued to play there. When we moved back I ended up playing for another youth group. The PPO Bengals of Pembroke Pines and they were a more talented team than my previous ones with high-octane competition. I learned a lot about teamwork and became a football family. Together we were ranked nationally as number one in the Nation winning tournaments and playing other teams from all over .
I would like like to study Engineering while continuing to further my education and my athletic career at a place to call home. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read about me and if you have any questions please contact me anytime.
