Personal Statement
I am a 6' 5", 275 lb. junior offensive tackle for the Marianna Bulldogs in Marianna, Florida. I am a three year letterman, have played both offensive tackle and offensive guard. This year, I am the starting strong tackle. I already had over 50 pancake blocks during my 2011 season alone, along with leading the way on most rushing plays from scrimmage. To tell you the truth, it is hard work but I wouldn't have it any other way! I like being the "go-to" guy.
Last year, I was recognized by my teammates as a captain for our city championship game against the Godby Cougars and won the 2010 Offensive Lineman of the Week by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club for my game against district rival Rickards. We finished our season with an unbelievable run through five playoff games and won the 2010 Florida Class 4A Srate Championship as a member of the Lincoln Trojans in Tallahassee, Florida!
Many people say they have a passion for football, but I feel that not many really show it like I do. I train for football year round, working on stregth, speed and conditioning in the off-season. I currently run a confirmed measures as follows: 5.0 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 350 lbs. bench and 450 lbs. squat and have a 28 in. vertical jump. I already feel as a junior that I am on my way to being able to contribute immediately to the right college program.
I am looking for a college where they have a commitment to win and work hard to be better every day. I want to lead by example to make my offensive line teammates work that much harder, as well as to help inspire my team to be as great as they can be. Because of this, I am much more flexible on the location of my future college than many prospects. In other words, the right football program and atmosphere is much more important to me than the location of the school. I look forward to the opportunity to help my future school win. I am excited about playing in college and helping my school to be the best we can be.
